Daniel Govenar, D.C., L.Ac.
Doctor of Chiropractic and Licensed Acupuncturist
“I combine both eastern and western medicine to treat the cause of the physical problem, not just the symptoms.”
Dr. Daniel Govenar has been practicing chiropractic and acupuncture for over ten years and has been dedicated to helping his patients live healthy, active, and successful lives. His own injury while in undergraduate school at San Diego State, led him to explore Kinesiology and to look beyond western medicine as the sole answer to sports related injuries, muscle pain, and athletic mobility. His studies in San Diego became focused on Athletic Training and inspired his desire to help others overcome musculoskeletal conditions. After receiving his B.S., he went on to pursue his Doctor of Chiropractic from the well recognized Southern California University of Health Sciences. As a graduate student, he was the recipient of the Mindlin Scholarship for Academic Achievement as well as other recognitions and graduated as his class valedictorian, in 2000.
After completing his chiropractic studies and clinical internships, Dr. Govenar went on to study at the South Baylo University in Anaheim, California. He received a Masters of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MSAOM) and became a licensed acupuncturist. His credentials brought him to practice chiropractic and oriental medicine with the Center for Health and Well-being in San Diego and also the San Diego Chiropractic Group before founding his own practice 2005.
Dr. Govenar founded Whole Health with the intention of creating a beneficial environment that would be a dynamic wellness center for his patients, not just a doctor’s office. His philosophy of building a community where diagnosis and treatment are conducted in a holistic and comprehensive manner have enabled the practice to continue to expand and provide outstanding care to patients young and old in the greater San Diego area.
Dr. Govenar is an avid surfer and golfer, who loves to enjoy his sports all over the world. His favorite spot for surfing currently, (besides San Diego) is Bali. He is fluent in Spanish after many extended trips to Central America, and enjoys photography and playing guitar.
